The creative vision for Sew House Apparel was born out of both necessity and divine purpose. After a marriage that ended in divorce after 10 years; the opportunity and the need to create a livelihood through my passion for sewing was born. I needed to make money but also raise my children. After working a few temp jobs and contract work for other businesses, I decided that I didn't want to spend my life working a 9 to 5, while relying on others to raise my children. So I began to sew for hire. Initially, I was blessed with a few small studio spaces until I was afforded the opportunity to purchase my first home. That's where the idea of Sew House came. I envisioned a work from home business that allowed me to generate income while still participating in my children's lives.
It's because of our humble beginnings, that it is our desire to build and grow a business that supports others in pursuing their own creative dreams.
Fashion to us is the merging of creative expression and divine purpose. We approach design as an opportunity to empower others. Whether creating a custom design that makes our clients feel their best self, teaching youth in the community or college student designers in the classroom. Our service driven approach to fashion puts people first.
While we draw inspiration from a wide range of sources, we seek to create contemporary designs that merge our love of vintage fashion, sustainable design and sewing craft. At Sew House Apparel we believe that perfecting our craft is a part of good design. We are constantly learning and teaching new skills with the goal of building a brand that will impact millions of people worldwide.
Whether our clients are buying a made to order or custom design, or are inspired to learn how to sew their own fashionable garments in one of our sewing classes; we desire to bring quality services and products created with integrity.
